Previously David Street Medical Practice, Harar Medical Centre was founded in 2008 by Dr Jamal Yusuf. His vision was to create a platform through which he could provide the highest quality medical care to the Dandenong and wider community. To this day, we continue to practice by those values.

Dr Jamal Yusuf

MBBS, FRACGP
Practice Principal/ General Practitioner

Dr Jamal Yusuf is the founder and principal GP of Harar Medical Centre. He has over 20 years experience in general practice with the majority of this time being in the Dandenong area. He is known for his care and compassion, and values the relationships he has built with his patients over the years. He is passionate about refugee health and believes in being an advocate for his patients.

Special Interests: Chronic disease management, Refugee Health, Men's Health

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters. He is an enthusiastic hiker, and is a regular at the 1000 steps.

Dr Hidaya Yusuf

MBBS, FRACGP, Dip. Child Health, DRANZCOG
General Practitioner

Originally from Melbourne, Dr Hidaya completed her Bachelor’s Degree of Medicine and Surgery at Bond University in 2015. She then undertook clinical training in a wide range of specialties at Gold Coast Health and Monash Health, before entering General Practice training and obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in early 2020.

Dr Hidaya is passionate about women's health and children's health. She has completed a Diploma of Child Health through the Sydney Children's Hospital Network as well as a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). Dr Hidaya is a shared pregnancy care affiliate with Monash Health. She believes strongly in providing the highest quality care for her patients and enjoys the lasting relationships a career in general practice allows her to build with them. She welcomes people of all communities and backgrounds and believes in empowering patients to take charge of their own health.

Outside of work she enjoys a good weekend brunch, cooking, staying fit, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Shehab Abdalla

B. Pharm, MBBS, FRACGP, Dip. Child Health, Dip. Aesthetic Medicine
General Practitioner/ Proceduralist

Shehab graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 2014. Prior to General Practice, he worked in various departments including Urology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cancer Surgery, ICU, Emergency and General Medicine. During his General Practice training, he simultaneously completed a Diploma in Child Health with the University of Sydney and a Diploma of Aesthetic Medicine with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Shehab has an interest in surgical procedures and general practice. He enjoys its holistic nature and the continuity of care he provides his patients and their families. He takes great pleasure in educating his patients in optimising their health.

Special Interests: circumcision, vasectomy, skin cancer removals, cosmetic medicine (dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections)

Outside of work he enjoys playing soccer and doing DIY projects around the house.
